OTHER INTERESTS:

Yoon-il Auh was a very active performer, conductor and composer before he joined the field of Technology in Education. He was the first violinist of Cantabile String quartet for five consecutive years under Lincoln Center Chamber Music series, managed by the Juilliard School.

His solo experience includes: performance with Brooklyn Philharmonic, All-City Orchestra of New York City (at Avery Fisher), New York Youth Symphony (at Carnegie main Hall) Aspen Chamber Orchestra in Colorado, North East Chamber Orchestra of New York, Albany Symphony of New York, Brooklyn Chamber Symphony, Gensfalls Symphony Orchestra, and Bayonne Festival Orchestra. The concertos I have performed with these orchestra include: Vieuxtemps concerto No.4, Tchaikovsky Concerto in D, Lalo Symphonie Espagnol, Sibelius Concerto, Brahms Concerto, Winiawski Concerto, Ravel's Tzigane, Saint Saens' Introduction and Rondo Capriccio, Mozart Concerto in G, Bach Double Concerto, and Beethoven Triple concerto. Recitals includes: Carnegie Recital Hall, Caldwell College, WNBC radio talk show "Year Shot", Stevens Institute of Technology, Paul Hall ( Juilliard ), Alice Tully, Bruno, Merkin Concert Hall, Walter Auditorium, New York University, Seoul, Korea, Aspen Music Festival, Waterloo Music Festival, and Staller Center (SUNY at Stony Brook).

He was then and now also an very active composer. His musical compositions include: Fantasy for Violin and Piano with the accompaniment of string orchestra and percussion (1991) and Theme And Variations From Korean Folk Song (1991) were performed at Symphony Space, New York City. The Sailor and The Sea (1978) for Cello and the string orchestra was performed at Brooklyn Music Center Suite De Illuciane For Piano (1993) performed in Seoul, Korea ( World Premier ) Fantasia for Viola and Piano (1994) performed at SUNY at Stony Brook (World Premier) and in Seoul, Korea (Premier) Micro Carnival for Piano (1993) performed at Carnegie Recital Hall, Eastern Suite for Piano (1993) performed at Manhattan School of Music in Master's degree graduation recital, and Fantasy For Timpani and Orchestra (1993). Further, he has over ten years of oil painting experience and made two Violins and a Viola.
